Paper Printing
I print onto 310 gsm Hahnemuhle German Etching. This is a very high quality 100% cotton rag, unbleached, fine art paper. It has an ink-jet receptive coating applied to one surface. The ink used is Epson K3 pigment. The natural finish is dead matt although I normally apply an optional gloss varnish which increases colour saturation & contrast and (I think) improves the appearance.
I can work from prints, negatives, slides and digital files (TIFF, JPEG, RAW etc) supplied on disc, memory stick or camera card. As a general principle it is always best to work with the original if possible....... but if a print is all that is available, bring it along and I will advise you regarding the final print quality.
Well to be honest, no one really knows. Hung indoors out of direct sunlight, 75 years should be a reasonable estimate. I use Epson pigment inks, high quality media and a coat of varnish to finish it off. For more information on this controversial topic visit www.wilhelm-research.com
I can do just about any image manipulation you may require. Things like leveling the horizon, colour effects, sepia toning, removing marks or even people and objects can all be done and usually free of charge. If you want something more ambitious I will give you a price for the work, based on £30.00 per hour computer time.

I know I am not the cheapest ! I do all the work in my gallery in Reading, I do not send it out to anonymous operators on the internet. I encourage you to bring in your files, prints, negatives etc and watch while I adjust & crop them, so they end up looking exactly the way you want them to look. I can even provide a small test print if you are worried about how your original will look when enlarged.
